What we collect, what we don't, and how shopper camera video is handled.

Last updated October 4, 2026

Overview

TryOnTrend (“TryOnTrend”, “we”, “us”) is a Shopify app that adds a live virtual try-on to a store's product pages. This policy explains what information we collect from merchants who install the app and from shoppers who use the try-on on a store, how we use it, and the choices you have.

For shopper information, the merchant is generally the controller and we act as their processor. Merchants should mention virtual try-on in their own store's privacy policy.

Information from merchants

When a merchant installs TryOnTrend, Shopify shares, and we store:

  • Store details: the store's myshopify.com domain, and the access token Shopify issues so the app can work with the store.
  • App settings: whether try-on is on, which products and collections are selected or excluded, setup progress and the chosen plan.
  • Product information: product titles, descriptions, types, variant options and images, read from the store when a shopper opens the try-on. We don't keep a copy of the catalog.
  • Billing: plans and usage charges are handled by Shopify. We receive the subscription status and line items, never payment card details.

We use this information to run the app, show the try-on on the right products, bill through Shopify and provide support.

Information from shoppers

Camera and photos

  • The camera only starts when the shopper chooses it, after a notice explaining what happens.
  • On-device try-on: body tracking runs entirely in the shopper's browser. The camera video never leaves the device.
  • Photo-real AI try-on: the camera is streamed live to our AI provider, Decart, for the session (up to 20 seconds) together with the product image, to generate the try-on video. If the shopper uploads a photo instead, that photo is sent to Decart to generate the try-on image.
  • TryOnTrend does not store shopper video or photos on its servers. The shopper's try-on recording is kept only in their own browser for up to 5 minutes, unless they choose to save or share it.

Analytics

  • To show merchants how try-on performs, we record events such as opening the try-on, completing it, adding to cart, sharing and closing, with the product and time spent. Events are tied to a random identifier generated for each browser tab, which we store in hashed form. We don't collect names, emails, IP-based location, or images of shoppers.
  • Product page views where the button is shown are counted as daily totals per store, with no per-visitor record.
  • Shoppers can rate a try-on from 1 to 5 stars and leave an optional comment.

Orders after try-on

After a completed try-on, the try-on adds a hidden attribute (_tryon) to the shopper's cart containing the random tab identifier and the time. If an order is placed within 14 days, Shopify sends us the order and we keep only the order id and number, total, currency and which tried-on products were bought. We don't store the customer's name, email, address, phone or payment details from the order.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run TryOnTrend, and only what they need:

DecartPhoto-real AI try-onLive camera stream or uploaded photo, and the product image, for the session

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

  • Try-on analytics, attributed orders and page view totals: 90 days.
  • Shopper ratings and comments: 365 days.
  • When a merchant uninstalls TryOnTrend, we delete the store's data, and again when Shopify sends its store data erasure request. We respond to Shopify's customer data requests; because we don't store customer identities, there is usually no customer data to return or delete.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Storefront requests reach us through Shopify's signed app proxy, and requests from the Shopify admin are authenticated with Shopify session tokens. AI sessions use short-lived tokens limited to a single try-on. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. Shoppers should contact the store they shopped with first, since the store controls its shopper data; you can also contact us at developeragentic@gmail.com. Shoppers can always use the on-device try-on, or not use try-on at all.

TryOnTrend is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell merchants in the app or by email when the change is significant.
